Our History
The words of Proverbs 11:25 establish direction and vision for Ravah Ministries. Ravah is Hebrew for “refresh.” It is our desire to come alongside Mexican Pastors and their churches and equip, encourage and bring refreshment.
In 1984, Rock Stewart with Partners in Christ developed a friendship with Jose and Victoria Medina. This friendship brought on the short-term team ministry that has assisted churches with construction needs and outreach to the local community.
The pastoral ministry grew from the love and care for Mexican Pastors by Jose, who had a heart to develop leaders in the church. With the help of missionary John Nelson, Jose, and his son, Enrique, utilized a material called Theological Education by Extension to train pastors and congregations in Mexico.
In 1986, Enrique Medina became an intern and team leader for Partners in Christ. In 1996, Enrique and Susan were married and became full time missionaries with Partners. This was a fruitful time of friendship and ministry, but in 2000, the Lord led the Medinas to begin Ravah Ministries, continuing short term teams, pastoral training, community service projects, etc.
Ravah Ministries has served churches in the USA thru equipping and forming teams to travel to partner in Mexico and loving others through music, teaching, puppets, medical skills, and physical labor of love.
Areas of specific ministry include assisting children homes in construction and supplies. Churches have been built. Remodeling and additions have been added. Leadership training in children’s ministry, prayer conferences, marriage seminars, discipleship training, the showing of the Jesus film in Spanish to various communities, Pastoral training and so much more!
Enrique and Susan Medina, along with their 3 children, have shared at mission conferences, men and women retreats, leading Spanish VBS in Colorado, and Enrique has also served in a leadership position on mission teams to Honduras and to the Amazon in Brazil.
Success in Mexico has been in the formation of the Pastoral Alliance which meets monthly, funding a radio ministry for a period of time, annual Pastor Appreciation banquets and observing church growth.
In the immediate future, pastor and leadership training, Casa Hogar and building projects hold much potential of spreading the Gospel and fulfilling the vision of bringing refreshment to Mexico. The Ravah team has a strong desire to train and encourage the American church to have a better understanding and participation in respect to international missions.
Core Team of Ravah Ministries
Ravah Ministries is an organization but is built on the foundation of relationships and sharing the love of Jesus Christ.
These families are the core team of Ravah. Yes, all family and all loving serving the Lord together! It is our joy to share with you what the common question is from the Mexican Pastor or church member, “WILL YOU COME BACK?”
